Which dessert actually pairs with rosé?

Ingredients

  • 300 ml rose wine
  • 60 g caster sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • 400 g strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 200 g mascarpone
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • Mint leaves, to serve

Method

  1. 01

Warm the water and sugar until dissolved, then stir in the rose wine.

  2. 02

Pour into a shallow dish and freeze, scraping with a fork every 30-40 minutes to form ice crystals, for about 3 hours.

  3. 03

Whisk the mascarpone with the icing sugar until smooth.

  4. 04

Toss the strawberries with a spoonful of the mascarpone mixture.

  5. 05

Spoon the strawberries into glasses, top with a dollop of mascarpone and a generous scoop of granita.

  6. 06

Finish with mint leaves and serve immediately.
